Our goal

We want everyone to be able to shop ThePandaHug, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, screen magnification or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we do

  • Keyboard: the shop is built to work with a keyboard. Menus, drawers and dialogs open and close from the keyboard, Escape closes them, and you can always see where the focus is.
  • Reduced motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, animations and transitions are switched off, and the film on the home page shows a still picture instead.
  • Text alternatives: product photos carry a text description, and purely decorative pictures are hidden from screen readers.
  • Forms: fields have labels, and errors are announced to screen readers as well as shown.
  • Design: text and background colors are chosen to meet the WCAG AA contrast levels, and buttons and other controls are at least 44 pixels in size, so they are easy to tap.

Where we may fall short

We test pages with a keyboard as we build them, but this statement is our own assessment, not the result of an outside audit. Some things may still be hard to use, for example words that are part of a design's picture, and pages run by other companies, such as Stripe's checkout.

Tell us about a problem

If anything on the Site is hard to use, please send us a message or email support@thepandahug.com. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and the device or assistive technology you use. We reply within one business day (Monday–Friday, US Central Time). We will work on a fix, and help you place your order another way in the meantime.
